Busy, busy, busy

Some of you will have been panicking recently because I have not blogged for almost a month! Well never fear, Mr Bloggy is back!
The reason I have not blogged for a while is that I was vey busy last month:
- I taught a taster weekend at the beginning of May, then two free marquetry tasters on successive weekends and a five day beginners course.
- We spent two weeks completely reorganising the workshop to allow a more efficient flow of work and space for additional workers.
- I produced the second Designer Makers e- newsletter, this takes a while for a computer illiterate.
- I've started making some instructional videos for posting on my Facebook page, again not easy fo the above reasons.
- I moved house last weekend, although we have not actually exchanged contracts yet, it’s a long story!
- I think we also did a little furniture making in and amongst!
So you can imagine I have not had much time for blogging. However you can expect a splurge of postings on some of the above in the next week or so!
I'm quite excited about the videos. I've found that I can make passable films using the camera I use for furniture shots. My daughter Heather is a dab hand with it, she has a very steady hand. I think we have produced some interesting pieces which I am in the process of putting on the page (not easy for the above reasons!). To see them go to my page on Facebook. It would be great if you could "like" it. I wish they would use a different term, it makes me feel like a teenager.
Some of you will have received the e-newsletters. The two so far have given news of the pieces we have been working on, what is in the pipeline, news from the galley and what’s happening with the courses. We have decided that is too much for one email so henceforth it will be split in two. One newsletter, Designer Makers News, will deal with our furniture making activities and the gallery, the other, called Face and Edge, will have news of the courses. If you would like to receive a newsletter please contact me and I’ll put you on the list, please specify which newletter you would like to receive, you can get both if you wish.
You may be wondering what the thumbnail is all about. All is explained in last month’s e-newsletter. If you sign up I’ll forward you a copy and all will be revealed!

I loved the How to Saw Straight video - perfect for Rollo to improve his bow and arrow making skills at the campsite!
