Commissioning
Chris Tribe believes that commissioning furniture should be a simple and pleasurable experience. His aim is to supply a special piece of furniture that uniquely reflects your vision.
After an initial contact he will discuss your requirements in detail to arrive at a design brief. If possible this would involve a visit to your home to get an understanding of the space the piece is to occupy.
About two weeks later Chris will meet with you to present sketches and details of a proposed design (or designs) and an estimate of price. You will undoubtedly have comments and suggestions to make about the design and Chris can advise about amendments, possibly redrawing and re-estimating until, hopefully, a design and price are agreed. A 20% deposit will be made at this point. You will later receive written confirmation of the order and delivery date (the average lead time is about 4-6 months).
Following agreement Chris will prepare the timber and rack it in the workshop to condition. Some customers like to visit the worshop to see their piece in the making and advise on aesthetic considerations. Chris, who is enthusiastic about his making, welcomes this involvement. On completion he will deliver and fit as neccessary, giving details on care and maintenance.
In the unlikely event of problems arising with the piece after delivery Chris regards it as a matter of integrity to remedy all after sales problems.
Throughout the process you can be assured that Chris will draw on his many years designing and making to ensure that you find commissioning a piece from him to be a satisfying and fulfilling experience
