Cherry and Oak Burr Cabinet with Over Shelf

This unusual cabinet was designed in response to the customer's request for a cabinet for their lounge on which they could also display photographs and ornaments. The need to support the shelf was the defining factor in the design, giving an engineered architectural feel to the piece. There was other cherry furniture in the lounge, hence the cherry oak burr combination.

The burr on the doors, top and shelf is book matced to create an attractive symmetry. While the curve finge pulls reveal cherry detail behind the burr. The the curved doors are fitted on pivot hinges, these are descrete and do not break up clean the line of the doors. The legs are fitted with adjusters in the feet, this allows easy levelling so that the doors can be aligned when the cabinet is moved.
