The featured timbers are madrona burr and paduak. The semi circular back is laminated and veneered on a former, the drawer sides being laminated on the same former. A steel rod, fitted in brass sleeves, runs up the centre of the paduak column on the drawer fronts, allowing the drawers to rotate freely. The veneer on the fronts and back is book matched madrona burr giving a pleasing symmetry. The paduak columns and edging making an attractive contrast to the lighter mandrona, ebony stringing highlights the shape of the top.
The drawers, which are lined with red baise, have a very pleasing action.
