This piece was made for a regular customer with a particular interest in Art Nouveau and the Arts and Crafts. It is traditionally constructed using dovetails for the top bracing rails and toothed adjustable shelf supports.
The case has a slight taper from top to bottom which is also reflected in the tapered ends to the top board. The top apron has an incised heart motif.
The grain of the European oak is enhanced by the use of van dyke stain and an oiled finish.
